Visitors

We actively encourage individuals to visit the group so that they can watch a meeting
in process and be better able to determine if they would wish to become members.  The only caveat is that a visitor must be involved in a business regimen which is not already being represented by another member within the group.  Duplication or conflict with another members profession will not be allowed and the visitor would not be allowed to revisit until such time that the business category becomes open (member moves/relocates, does not renew, etc.)

Visitors are the lifeblood of the group. Without visitors, there will be no new members and the group will stagnate, or worse, shrink in size. Visitors bring new ideas, businesses, and a revitalizing lift to the group. Visitors need to be encouraged every week and the group should actively pursue professional classifications important to the group.

North Georgia Referral Network maintains a board that is at every weekly meeting that has slots for member’s business cards. All members are encouraged to keep their own cards in stock on the board. Visitors are also allowed to leave cards on the board in he lower slots and these are removed every month or so if the visitor does not return or join the group. We find that visitors to the meetings will visit the board and take cards of the members they would like to contact at a later date.

Visitors are given a bound visitor’s book when they arrive. Inside this book is a welcome letter from the president, an application to join the group, a brief write-up of the group’s policies, testimonial letters from members about how the group has helped their business, and a plastic sleeve with members business cards enclosed. We have a member who is assigned to be the visitor greeter and whose job it is to hand the visitor this booklet and get 2 business cards from the visitor to be given to the President so he can acknowledge the visitor and one given to the membership chairman.
