Weekly meetings

The meetings are held weekly to keep all members businesses fresh in everyone’s minds. This promotes more and better referrals.

  • The meeting starts at 7:30 am with coffee and breakfast if available, and allows members arriving early to network together. This should be a time where those not eating stand and network with anyone else not eating.
  • At 7:40 the business meeting begins. The president brings the meeting to order and welcomes visitors and introduces the leadership team. A copy of the meeting agenda can be found in the addenda.
  • No matter what, the meeting should be adjourned before 9:00 am. This allows members to plan on the timing and make appointments accordingly for the rest of the day.
  • During the meeting we have a 3 minute business education moment where a member will stand and read some information relevant to the membership. Information can be found readily on  www.gitomer.com or   www.businessknowhow.com. Both of these sites give weekly business tips but are by no means the only ones available.
  • After the education moment all members and guests get a chance to stand and give their 1 minute speech. Following this we go around again giving referrals, 2 for 20’s and closed business. If a member does not have any of these three items they are asked to stand and give a testimonial for a member or their quick thoughts on the meeting so far.
  • From 8:30 to 8:40am the 10 minute speaker of the day has a chance to introduce their product or service. Members are encouraged to speak for the full 10 minutes and this usually is not a problem.

We use a book called The ABC’s of Networking, written by Raeus Cannon. In this book are quick 1 page networking tips based on the letters of the alphabet. Depending on how we are doing on time, the education director may stand and spend a minute on the current alphabet tip of the day from this book.

The only difference in the end of the month meeting is that we do not have any education moments and we give an outside speaker the last 30 minutes of our meeting to speak. These are generally well received with members staying after the meeting is over to speak with the guest speaker.

The value of the meetings is three fold. We try to inform the membership on networking tips and how networking can increase their business. Second, we offer several chances at learning about business at every meeting. And lastly, referrals are received and generate business for the membership.
