Page 1 of 10 WelcomeCongratulations! You are among the smart small business owners and sales representatives that understand the value of business networking. I changed careers five years ago and my business networking was the difference. Word of mouth advertising is the most cost effective form of advertising. It also has a higher closure rate for new business. When someone you trust recommends someone to you, there is an inherited trust that comes with the referral. The North Georgia Referral Network has generated over $85,000 in closed business in the 2008 calendar year. We created this group to promote business referrals, and we have been successful. We expect to close over $100,000 in referred business by the end of 2009. The purpose of this group is to bring together like-minded individuals for the purpose of providing business referrals to one another and to pursue additional training in business related activities. It is not a social group, but a business networking group designed to enhance the members individual businesses by creating referrals through the interactions of the members and their spheres of influence. By meeting each week, these members focus on their “Sales Team” and reinforce with them the types of referrals each member is looking for. This weekly interaction keeps the membership and its needs, top of the mind for each member, and helps them talk up the skills of other members as they look for referrals to give. The information contained within this manual is the basis for how we operate North Georgia Referral Network. We have tried to outline the basic operations, Membership guidelines, Leadership team responsibilities, and Visitor coordination needed in order to run a profitable networking group. An addenda is included in the back with examples of letters and other documents used within the group.
